SPY’s Newsletter #104

Who Are The SPY’s

Chapter Five

In the first four chapters of “Who Are The SPY’s” that appeared in previous Newsletters, we covered a brief history and philosophy of the organization; some of the special things we have done in the community; as well as information on membership---volunteerism—and lack of dues.  In this chapter we will recognize some very special people who are absolutely critical to the success of the Sunfield Area Sponsors of Programs for Youth---our Corporate and Platinum Sponsors.

One of the things the SPY's feel is important, if not downright essential, is to recognize others, who by their actions and deeds demonstrate that they share our values of building the community through service and by providing opportunities for youth.  The SPY's do not have the wherewithal or capabilities to address the multitude of needs that exist on a variety of fronts today.  We do what we can.

So, when others step forward and give of themselves for the betterment of the community, the SPY's feel this should not be ignored.  For, as it has been said, it takes many hands working together to improve the quality of life in a place we call home.

Back in 1998, the SPY's instituted a formal "Corporate Sponsor" program.  Through this program we solicited businesses and individuals to partner with us so we could better meet the increasing cost demands of the many programs we underwrite.  To become a Corporate Sponsor meant they contributed at least $500 in that year.

It is indeed our pleasure to introduce our current Corporate Sponsors to you:

A & D Haskin (Al Haskin)

APEC (Kendall Wilcox)

Ashton King Insurance Agency (Ashton King)

Bader & Sons (Jim Carr)

Best Tax Service (Rosie Best)

Campbell & Sons (Paul Campbell)

Centennial Acres Golf & Banquet Center (John Nagel)

D & D Hydraulics (Dan Moody)

Davis Construction (Mike Davis)

Deamco Corporation (Armen Golnazarians)

Haskin Farms (Brian Haskin)

Hazel Brothers Drainage (Ben Teachworth)

HSV Redi-Mix (Al Haskin)

Mark Woodman Plumbing & Heating (Mark Woodman)

Musgrove Grain (Alex Haskin)

Precision Grade Excavating (Michael Haskin)

Quality Hardwoods (Luke Brogger)

Sabersmith, Inc. (Mark Lienhart)

Union Bank (Stacey Nurenberg)

Willow Wood Golf Course (Quinn Hoffman)

Then, in 2008, the SPY’s took formal action to create a complimentary program that parallels our Corporate Sponsorships.  It is known as the Platinum Sponsor Program. It is designed to accommodate and recognize individuals that, like the businesses in our Corporate Sponsor program, have stepped forward to provide significant financial support for our activities.

Each of these individuals has contributed at least $500 to our organization in the past year.  We are indeed gratified in that kind of support, and it is with sincere appreciation that we recognize them.

Parting Comments

· Reflections: Apparently RSVP’ing to a wedding invitation, "Maybe next time" isn’t the correct response.

· Thoughts On Aging: I enjoy a glass of wine each night for its health benefits.  The other glasses are for my witty comebacks and flawless dance moves.
