Help Is Needed With The Sunfield Farmers Picnic

The Sunfield Farmers Picnic is just 9 days away and YOUR HELP IS NEEDED! Sunfield is a small, l but a very close-knit community, and more volunteers are needed to keep this 120+ year festival going. There are only eleven members on the Board and so many activities that make so many attendees happy. Won’t you consider volunteering a small amount of your time to help keep the Sunfield Farmers Picnic going strong?

There are several areas where HELP is needed:

1. Assistant for the Open Class Craft Exhibit on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. to help DeAnna Clark with incoming craft items, logging the awarded ribbon to each craft item and writing on the ribbon;

2. Organizer (individual or group) for the Grand Parade on Saturday beginning about 11 a.m. to coordinate the parade lineup near the old Sunfield Elementary School, and beginning in 2024 field telephone calls and emails from interested participants.

3. Parking enforcement assistant to help Ryan to keep Logan Street open for the Grand Parade beginning about 10 a.m. on Saturday.

Changes continue to happen, events/activities come and go, but it is the Board’s goal to keep the Sunfield Farmers Picnic fun and a great place to come and hang out with family and friends! Please consider volunteering a couple of hours at this year’s festival. Remember that many hands make light work!

Parting Comments

· Deep Thought-Of-The-Week: If you have always believed that everyone should play by the same rules and be judged by the same standards, that would have gotten you labeled a radical 60 years ago---a liberal 30 years ago---and a racist today.

· Notable Quote: "I have never understood why politicians think it’s “greed” to want to keep the money you’ve earned, but not greed to want to take someone else’s money.”

· That’s Puny Department: I've accidentally swallowed some Scrabble tiles,” he lamented. “My next bowel movement could spell disaster.

· Did You Know Section: Leonardo da Vinci invented and used an alarm clock in which water flowed in a thin stream from one receptacle to another. When the second receptacle was full, a system of gears and levers raised Leonardo’s feet into the air.
