Lakewood High School Important Information

Here is an update that Lakewood High School sent out to all parents with Seniors regarding their end-of-the-year activities.

It is unclear what the summer brings with executive orders being made at the state level, but we will continue to follow all guidelines, policies, or orders that are developed or executed. This does make it difficult for us to hold events as we have in the past. It also makes it difficult to make definitive plans for some events as well. In those cases, we have developed a timeline that will be used for making decisions. We understand the significance of these milestone events to students and have worked to retain as many of these as possible while following all executive orders.

Prom:

This will be postponed until an executive order will allow this event to be held. If we are unable to hold this event before July 31, then it will be canceled.

Senior Tea / Paintball:

These events are canceled.

Honors Night:

We will not be holding an honors award night. However, we are planning to include student awards recognition into our commencement program in some manner.

Commencement:

We will hold a face-to-face commencement ceremony on June 25 if allowed per state regulation. We also will have a back-up date of July 23. If we are unable to hold commencement on either of these dates, then a face-to-face ceremony will not be held.

We are planning something special to do on the original commencement date and details will be coming shortly.

Reminder

Also, don’t forget to round up any glassware or new or “gently used” stuffed animals that we can use in the Dime Pitch Booth at the Farmer’s Picnic in August.  If you have anything to donate please contact our new project chairperson, Wayne Simmons at 440-520-6841.

· Thoughts On Aging: Do you ever get up in the morning, look at yourself in the mirror and think…”That can’t be accurate!”
