SPY’s Newsletter #103 (10/17/20) Sunfield Recycling Center To Re-Open At last, some good news!  Thanks to the hard work and tireless effort of our County Commissioner Rob Piercefield, we are pleased to report that Eaton County Resource Recovery is reopening the Sunfield Recycling Center on Wednesday, October 28th.  It will be open from 2 PM to 6 PM as a one-year pilot project to determine whether there is adequate demand and support for its continued operation. Items accepted include Plastics #1 & #2 ONLY, Newspapers, Steel / Tin, Aluminum, Cardboard & Boxboard, Junk Mail, Magazines, Office Paper, Telephone Books, Batteries, and Styrofoam.  Please presort all recyclables, rinse bottles & cans, NO plastic bags, and remove all plastic caps. Please observe all COVID-19 protocols, as you would any other public space.  This includes wearing a mask and social distancing. Going forward, regular hours of operation will be Wednesdays, 2 – 6 PM, and Saturdays, 9 AM – 1 PM.  For more information, go to the Sunfield Recycling website at: https://recycle18.wixsite.com/sunfieldrecycling Got Any Suggestions? News From The Library Calling all “Friends of the Library!”  Once again, the Sunfield District Library will be hosting the Friends Group Holiday Raffle.  Items donated are being received now through October 31st.  Donations from area businesses, as well as faithful patrons, make this such a successful event!  All safety for Covid restrictions are still in place, so we feel that it can be hosted in a responsible manner.  Items will be on display from November 3rdthrough December 12th.  Drawings will take place on the 12th after the library closes. Many wonderful items are arriving, such as this Autographed MSU Basketball, donated by John Fisher.  Not only Tom Izzo, but Suzy Merchant signed it as well!  If anyone has questions, please feel free to contact the library during regular hours Tuesday-Friday 2pm-8pm and Saturday 9am-1pm. Parting Comments · Reflections:  I told my suitcases that due to the Chinese Virus there will be no vacation this year.  Now I’m dealing with emotional baggage.
