Urgent Appeal

There are a couple of Farmer’s Picnic activities that are in real need of some volunteers to help out.  So, if you have a little time to spare on Friday afternoon / evening, or on Saturday late morning until afternoon / evening, why not consider pitching in and helping out our community.  Here’s where your help is needed:

· The Open Class Craft Show will take place on Saturday. The head of the Craft Show, DeAnna Clark, sure could use a couple of individuals to volunteer to help out.  Duties will include helping from 8-10 a.m. with registration and display.  She also needs someone to keep an eye on the entries under the tent, which is closed during the grand parade, while she goes to take photographs of the parade.

During the afternoon, it would be nice to allow each person (DeAnna and each volunteer) to take a couple of short breaks to enjoy the Picnic, get food / drinks and use the restroom.  Please contact DeAnna at clark.dr@hotmail.com or call her at 517-231-2527 if you have any questions or to let her know if you can help.  Thank you!

· The Dime Pitch Booth will be one of the very few, if any, concessions at the Farmer’s Picnic this year for the kids to enjoy.  This year the Dime Pitch will be located under the pavilion in the park.  Helpers for this light duty work are needed Friday evening and Saturday afternoon / evening.

Anyone interested can contact the head of the Dime Pitch Booth, Wayne Simmons, at 616-550-2876.

By the way, you do not need to be an adult to volunteer.

There are a number of people that receive these newsletters that have told me they would like to become more involved in the community.  Here is a “painless” way to start.  Just call DeAnna or Wayne and lend a hand.  Your willingness to help out will be GREATLY appreciated!
