Community Christmas Basket Distribution
Is Coming Up
The Lakewood Community Council has once again requested help with the annual Christmas Basket Project for the Lakewood School District. Drivers that are familiar with the Sunfield area are needed on Saturday, December 13h, at 9 AM. It will take just a couple hours of your time, at the most. Please mark that date and time on your calendar and make plans to help spread some holiday cheer.
The Christmas Basket project helps nearly 200 families in the Lakewood area. Volunteers are needed to deliver the baskets to the designated families in the Sunfield area.
Anyone that would like to help out, just show up on Saturday, December 13th at the Living Gospel Church in Lake Odessa.
For those of you that have helped with this distribution in the past, please note that the Christmas Basket pick-up location has changed. For years the Lakewood Community Council have used the Methodist Church in
downtown Lake Odessa. But, this year they will be using the Living Gospel Church in the northern part of town across from the Fair Grounds. Exact details will follow in the weeks ahead. For Further information, please
contact John Fisher at 517-648-0969. Thank you!
Contributions
· Ron & Marlene McDiarmid made a significant contribution in memory of Mary Sandborn.
· John & Sandra Fisher made donations to the Scholarship Fund in memory of Mary Sandborn; Doris Bell; Belinda Gulley; and Daryl Hartzler.
· We once again had a kind-of special donation come our way through the generosity of Andy Claflin and the Sunfield Cycle Shop. Andy has a candy machine that dispenses M & M’s; Skittles; and M & M Peanuts. You know, the kind where you put in a coin---turn the gizmo---and out comes your candy. Andy gave us a call and said he was going to open up his machine and donate the contents to the SPY’s to help kids and the community. This was the second time he had done this. Very thoughtful gesture Andy. Thank you!
· The Cousin Club made a donation to the Dime Pitch Booth activity.

You’ve really got to hand it to short people. Because they usually can’t reach it anyways.
I just burned my Hawaiian pizza. Guess I should’ve put it on aloha temperature.
Bad puns…it’s how eye roll.
· Did You Know Section: Gunsmoke" was TV's longest-running Western, moving from radio to TV in 1955. John Wayne turned down the role of Marshall Matt Dillon but recommended James Arness, who got the role. The last telecast was Sept 1, 1975.
