Important SPY’s Sportsman’s Nigh Event Report
The BIG Event is just one week away! Preparations continue for our 30th annual
Sportsman's Night Event happening on Saturday February 7th, 2026. For tickets (if any are still available); prize donations; or for further information, just give event chairperson Pete Weller a call (517-743-1642).
If You Are Planning On Attending The Sportsman’s Night Event
Here Is Everything You Need To Know
· As reported earlier, this year’s event will be held at the former Sunfield Elementary School / Caterpillar Clubhouse Day Care Building.
· This is a SOLD OUT event, thus there will be no tickets available at the door or general admission. It is expected that there will be around 250 people in attendance.
· To get into the event DO NOT USE the former main entrance. Instead, go to the far Northwest door located by the gym.
· The doors will open at 3 PM---There will be a special presentation for all veterans attending at 5 PM---The food will be served at 5:30 PM.
· Beer and soft drinks will be available. DO NOT bring your own. To do so will violate the State license and will cancel the event.
· To eliminate the crowding we have experienced in the past with the prize chip buckets being in the main eating area, this facility allows us to put all of the prizes and chip buckets in a separate room (the former library) and gives us much more room in the eating area.
· There are over 80 chip bucket prizes and many more door prizes this year.
· There will be at least 14 – 15 guns available.
· There will be EXTRE SPECIAL drawings for a couple of exotic guns.
· It is recommended that if you plan on attending---get there early! And, have a good time!
Parting Comments
· Deep Thought of the Week: Popcorn is prepared in the same pot---in the same heat---in the same oil and yet the kernels do not pop at the same time. Don’t compare your child to others. Their turn to pop is coming!
· Notable Quote: “Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere.”---Albert Einstein
· That's Puny Department: Why is it so cheap to throw a party at a haunted house? Because the ghosts bring all the boos.
· Did You Know Section: McDonalds added drive-thru in 1975 to accommodate soldiers who were not allowed to get out of their cars while wearing their fatigues.
