SPY鈥檚 Announce Corporate-Sponsor-Of-The Year

APEC has been a Corporate Sponsor of the SPY鈥檚 for the past eleven years, and has been deeply involved in a wide variety of youth and community activities throughout the Lakewood area.聽 APEC is well deserving of this recognition!


SPY鈥橲 Community Foundation Scholarship Application Deadline Nears

March 15, 2020, is the deadline for applications to be in for the SPY鈥檚 Community Foundation sponsored scholarships. Each year awards are made from the Scholarship Fund to deserving graduating High School seniors.


The criteria for application is as follows:


路 Applicant must be a resident of the Sunfield Area; (i.e.: lives within the boundaries of the old Sunfield Elementary School attendance area).

路 Applicant must apply in writing on the forms provided by March 15th. of the year of graduation.

路 Applicant must provide a high school transcript.

路 Completed teacher recommendation forms must accompany a submitted application in order to be considered.

路 Applicant must also provide a non-school / non-family member 鈥渙utside鈥 reference using the form provided. This must be returned directly to the SPY鈥檚 by the March 15th deadline.

路 Applicant must have demonstrated some sort of community involvement.

路 Applicant should be able to document leadership ability or qualities, and be a well-rounded individual.

路 Home-schooled applicants are eligible, but must submit SAT or ACT scores, and at least three (3) letters of recommendation from people outside their immediate family.

路 This is a one-time award.

路 If a scholarship winner, you must be able to show proof of college registration to receive money.

路 Scholarship recipients must claim their award by the end of the calendar year in which it was awarded, or automatically forfeit, unless, the President or Treasurer of the Foundation, due to acceptable unusual circumstances, grants a written waiver.

路 The decision of the Scholarship Selection Committee is final and not subject to appeal.


The Sunfield Area Sponsors of Programs for Youth (SPY鈥檚) and the Sunfield Community Foundation are please to announce an expansion of their Scholarship Program.


Starting with this year鈥檚 graduation class, the Scholarship Program will be expanded to cover any area student that wishes to enter a trade.聽 The following is the basic criteria for these new opportunities:

路 If applicant is entering an apprentice program, a cash 鈥淭ool Allowance鈥 award will be made upon presentation of documentation of at least six-months employment in an apprentice program.
